Merry Meet.
If someone were to ask me, “What is ChristoPaganism?”, my answer would probably surprise them.
It isn’t about trying to force two religions together.
It isn’t about choosing one over the other.
And it certainly isn’t about creating something entirely new.
For many people, ChristoPaganism is simply the natural meeting place between a love of Christ and a deep reverence for God’s creation.
It is a spiritual path that seeks wisdom wherever wisdom may be found, while allowing love to remain the guiding principle.
Beginning With Love
When Jesus was asked what mattered most, His answer was beautifully simple.
“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.'”
— Matthew 22:37–39
Many ChristoPagans believe these words remain the foundation of their spiritual lives.
Everything else grows from love.
If a belief causes hatred…
If a practice causes harm…
If a tradition separates us from compassion…
Perhaps it is time to return to the greatest commandment.
The Golden Rule
Jesus also taught what has become known as the Golden Rule:
“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.”
— Matthew 7:12
This simple teaching has echoed throughout history and across many cultures.
Treat others with kindness.
Offer the respect you hope to receive.
Choose compassion over judgement.
Many ChristoPagans see this as one of the clearest expressions of spiritual living.
The Wisdom of the Wiccan Rede
One of the most widely recognised teachings within modern Paganism is the Wiccan Rede.
Its best-known line is beautifully straightforward:
“An it harm none, do what ye will.”
Whether someone follows Wicca or not, the principle encourages personal responsibility.
Freedom is precious.
So is recognising how our choices affect others.
When placed alongside the teachings of Jesus, many people notice a beautiful harmony.
Love your neighbour.
Do no harm.
Treat others as you wish to be treated.
Different traditions.
Remarkably similar wisdom.
Loving Creation
One of the things that draws many people to ChristoPaganism is a renewed appreciation for the natural world.
The forests.
The oceans.
The changing seasons.
The stars above us.
The birds greeting the dawn.
Rather than seeing nature as separate from spirituality, ChristoPagans often experience creation itself as one of God’s greatest gifts.
The Wheel of the Year reminds us that life moves in sacred cycles.
Seeds become flowers.
Summer becomes autumn.
Winter gives way to spring.
Death is followed by new life.
Nature quietly teaches lessons that have inspired humanity for thousands of years.
Saints, Symbols and Sacred Stories
Some ChristoPagans honour Christian saints.
Others find inspiration in ancient gods and goddesses as symbolic figures, archetypes or cultural expressions of humanity’s relationship with the Divine.
Some celebrate Christmas and Easter.
Others also celebrate the Sabbats of the Wheel of the Year.
Some pray with a rosary.
Others meditate beneath ancient trees.
There is no single way to practise ChristoPaganism.
Each journey is deeply personal.
What unites ChristoPagans is not identical beliefs, but a shared desire to seek truth with humility, curiosity and love.
Walking with Christ and Creation
Perhaps the greatest misunderstanding about ChristoPaganism is the belief that it requires having all the answers.
It doesn’t.
Instead, it invites us to ask questions.
To read.
To pray.
To reflect.
To walk through forests.
To study Scripture.
To appreciate mythology.
To sit quietly beneath the stars.
To notice the beauty of creation.
To discover how Christ, creation and humanity might all belong within one beautiful story.
Walking with Christ and Creation is not about blending beliefs until they lose their meaning.
It is about allowing love to shape the journey.
It is about recognising that caring for creation is an act of gratitude to its Creator.
It is about seeking wisdom wherever it may be found, while remaining grounded in compassion, humility and respect.
For many of us, ChristoPaganism is not a destination.
It is a lifelong pilgrimage of learning, wonder and love.

How might my life look if these three principles guided every decision I made?
Perhaps genuine spirituality is not about having all the answers.
Perhaps it begins simply by choosing love.
